High precision temperature
measurement is easily accomplished; when small sensing ranges are
amplified, to fill the measurement span of the connected data converter.
An example of this is shown by
considering; a conversion of, a direct measured thermistor span of -200 to
500 C, vs a conversion of a preamplifier measured thermistor span of 0 to
50 C. The preamplifier span results in a precision 14 times greater than
the direct measured thermistor span.
Where is this important? While high
precision is not necessary in all measurement applications; amplification
of the sensing span in those applications that need high precision, allows
an application to meet a requirement with a custom tailored precision
measurement solution.
The ROI-XMA
is an improved way to read sensors. Multiple sensor types. Multiple signal
ranges. High linearity. High precision. Fast response. Long transmission
distances. True analog signal conditioning, not microprocessor based A-D
conversion.
